2020 Has Been Interesting

We're going to talk about the world for a second here... What the fuck is going on?
First, this virus that's getting everyone, no matter age, health, or however OCD you think you are, EVERYONE is getting this virus. China and Italy are shut down. Trump put a 60 day ban on flying overseas. Kids are home for 3 weeks, people who can work from home are doing so (lucky bastards). I work at a drive thru, I handle money all of the time. If someone with a dollar has the virus and the dollar was passed to someone else or directly to me, even. It's bad enough I have a minor sore throat, likely caused by running back and forth stocking coolers(fingers crossed).

Back in 2009 people freaked out over H1N1 but we weren't running out of toilet paper in supermarkets. It was a mild case of human influenza that, according to cdc.gov, was "a pandemic that is now a regular human flu virus and continues to circulate worldwide."

How this has been affecting me:
I've put off travel plans until further notice, I'm only leaving my house when necessary, and when I do leave it's for work or to put gas in my car. I carry hand sanitizer in my purse, I'm going to start wearing gloves to avoid touching gas nozzles and door handles as well as to handle money at work, and to top it all off, start wearing a mask until this sore throat is over with.

Next, (now the sad part about this is not knowing which news is fake news, feel free to explain it to me more in the comments if you'd like to educate me). According to nytimes.com "Fires are still burning south and west of New South Wales..." Thankfully though, "... some areas got more than two feet of rain, and flooding rivers..." Hopefully with help from the rain, firefighters are able to contain the fires and Australia can go back to normal.

Lastly, "The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunges more than 2,000 points, the largest fall in it's history up to that point..." according to Wikipedia (not the best source, but a source nonetheless to get information on world events in 2020). "Oil prices plunge by around 30% in early trading, the biggest fall since 1991..." That explains why gas is so cheap right now.

I know this blog was a little more informational but it felt good doing the research and actually "be in the know" of what's going on in the world right now. I know I could probably talk more about politics and presidents and who I'd vote for in the upcoming election, but I'll save that for it's own blog later on. Until then, have a wonderful afternoon, and don't forget to bring limes. (^-^)
